A time to gather with loved ones and make memories to cherish for the year ahead, the Festive Season at Aman Kyoto offers a range of gifts and dining experiences for you to celebrate to the fullest. On New Year's Day, experience a “Shishimai”, a traditional lion dance and “Mochitsuki”, a rice pounding ceremony to bring in the New Year, before enjoying an Osechi breakfast at Japanese restaurant Taka-an.

The Living Pavilion by Aman will host a sublime, eight-course, land-to-table Christmas dinner celebrating Kyoto’s incredible natural produce for not one, but three nights this festive season. Whether you wish to dine in the cosy warmth of the Pavilion with its open fire and garden views on Christmas Eve, Christmas itself or Boxing Day, you can look forward to a gastronomic journey curated by Executive Chef Kentaro Torii featuring Ise lobster, Kyoto duck, Japanese black beef fillet, and highly nutritious Kyoto winter vegetables with their condensed umami and unique sweetness. Dessert is the cherry on top – Tamba Chestnut Mont Blanc, created by Executive Pastry Chef, Hiroyuki Matsuo.

1 - 25 December

Always a decadent affair with a selection of over 20 teas and fresh matcha, afternoon tea at Aman Kyoto will transport guests to Manhattan this festive season with its inspiration coming from the soon-to-be-launch Aman New York.

Handmade treats by Hiroyuki Matsuo will range from Santa’s hats and the ‘Big Apple’ to classic NY cheesecakes, while miniature savoury bites will include hot dogs and a unique take on eggs benedict. Complementing this daily offering, Aman Kyoto’s Christmas Gift Box contains an abundance of melt-in-the-mouth pastries including delicious Yuzu Stollen finished with cinnamon sugar. Edible chocolate Christmas trees are another sweet temptation this season – almost too beautiful to eat.

Aman Kyoto Taka-an Aman Kyoto New Year

31 December - 3 January 

Celebrate the end of 2021 and the start of 2022 with an exquisite Omakase or Hirai Been Kaiseki multi-course dinner featuring delectable Tamba Hirai beef in the rarefied atmosphere of Taka-An. As midnight nears on the 31st, traditional Toshikoshi soba noodles will be delivered to your suite, along with champagne and sweet treats.

Begin the first day of January with an auspicious Osechi breakfast curated by Executive Chef Shinichito Takagi at Taka-an (also available on the 2nd and 3rd). Other traditions inviting health, peace and good fortune – including a dramatic Shishimai lion dance, the rice pounding ceremony to make sweet mochi and the drinking of O-toso sake – will take place on New Year’s Day.
