Amanjena
Inspired by the rose-hued buildings of old Marrakech, palatial Amanjena is close to the fabled Red City, set in its own expanse of gardens and grand open spaces.
The mineral-rich water that springs near Aman Kyoto is central to the philosophy at the resort’s Aman Spa. Traditional onsen bathing facilities deliver relaxation and healing in their purest forms, while a range of treatments tap into Japan’s plentiful natural apothecary – including Kyoto green tea, tamba kuromame black beans, local sake and cold-pressed camellia oil.
Soak in the healing waters of our onsen bathing pools. Dating back to the sixth century, Japanese bathing culture initially grew out of Buddhist cleansing rituals. Today the Japanese still enjoy seasonal onsen and herbal baths for their health-giving benefits
This half-day programme takes a holistic approach to the wellbeing of the body and mind. It is recommended for guests looking to experience the true harmony of nature in beautiful Japanese garden.
Acupuncture and moxibustion are said to have positive effects on both mental health and anti-aging. Based on the idea of oriental medicine and the five elements of yin and yang, it is believed that stimulating the body’s pressure can also elevate muscle tension, rebalance hormones, and improve lymphatic circulation. When combining with the warming effects of the Aman’s Spa’s natural hot springs, the treatment leaves the mind relaxed and the body rejuvenated.
A speciality at Aman Kyoto, Shiatsu is an intuitive massage technique based on the same principles as acupuncture. Aiming to restore the flow of energy or qi in the body, it is known to improve muscle tone, stimulating blood and lymph circulation, strengthen immunity and dispel stress.
*Only a limited number of guests are allowed to use Onsen at any one time. Please make a reservation in advance.

With their myriad health benefits – from skincare to stress relief – essential oils are a staple in the holistic wellness practitioner’s natural pharmacy. Aman Kyoto offers its own original essential oil combinations inspired by the forest and gardens that embrace the resort. As well as its cedar and green tea signature, there are four seasonal scents – each capturing the essence of either spring, summer, autumn or winter at Aman Kyoto.
Aman Essentials has launched Essential Skin, a new skincare range comprising five products developed and produced in Japan which combine to create a functional and effective daily skincare routine supporting the natural skin barrier, encouraging deep hydration, and protecting from daily environmental stressors. Aman Essential Skin uses a unique blend of potent herbs that have long been valued in Japan for their powerful effects, as well as skin actives including Vitamin C, Vitamin E, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.
Made in Japan, Aman’s new functional skincare line, Essential Skin, is infused with powerful rice bran and indigo extracts, to achieve noticeably lifted, more radiant skin. Combining products from the Essentials Skin line with exfoliation and manual lifting techniques, the Aman Advanced Facial stimulates face muscles to improve the skin’s overall texture.
The treatment begins with ultrasonic scrubbing to loosen and remove oil and debris from the pores. Supported by electric muscle stimulation and massage to firm, and cryo bulbs to eliminate puffiness, the complexion appears brighter and tighter. The treatment continues with the application of a marine mineral mask to deeply hydrate, followed by Aman x 111Skin Nourishing Gold Algae hydrogel face and eye masks to achieve an exceptional glow. For a wholly rejuvenation process, the facial can be extended to incorporate a 15-minute scalp massage.
Please note that Aman Kyoto does not currently offer gym and pool facilities, however the resort’s comprehensive wellness offering is outlined below:
