During Galungan and Kuningan in Bali, a 10-day celebration takes place every 210 days according to the Hindu Saka Calendar. A Hindu celebration designed to cleanse the previous year’s negative energy and prepare for a positive year ahead, Nyepi – New Year’s Day – sees the island of Bali at its most serene, with traffic silenced and many taking part in fasting, alongside abstention from work and forms of entertainment.

Piodalan or Odalan is a traditional village celebration observed throughout Bali, marking the anniversary of the consecration of a mrajan (family temple) or a palinggih (sacred shrine). At Amandari's temple, the Odalan ceremony spans three-days and features traditional dance and orchestra performances, accompanied by blessings, prayer sessions, and a bustling Balinese food market.
