Dominican Dining Experiences - Amanera, Playa Grande

Restaurants are open to guests and non-residents

The Restaurant, specialising in fresh, organic dishes, features a terrace overlooking the uninterrupted mile-long golden strand of Playa Grande beach. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the restaurant ensure expansive views from indoors, and the second-storey bar is the perfect spot for an aperitif. Or, choose to dine right on the beach at Club de Playa, the ocean providing a spectacular backdrop to your Dominican dining experience.

Amanera will welcome back Chef Matoba from the 24-28 May showcasing his signature Nama dining concept

Hosting four unique dinners with a different menu each night; authentic, uncomplicated and elegant celebrating the culinary artistry of the traditional Japanese kitchen. Cooking classes will also be available on property with Chef Matoba himself.

Locally inspired dishes – from traditional stews to the catch of the day infused with local herbs

The chef’s highlights include a medley of robust Dominican flavors: native Taíno yucca chips or ‘mangu’ (mashed cooked plantains) served up with fried cheeses and locally cured meats. A truly authentic breakfast.

Sundowners at Playa Grande are at their best with rum or Mama Juana

Take an educational class with our experienced bartenders or venture out on a private tour of nearby rum distillery Ron Barceló and sample its full range of spirits, including the 10-year barrel-aged Imperial rum

A canopy of stars above Playa Grande – the perfect spot for a candlelit dinner

Other culinary opportunities include a cooking lesson with the chef, a cocktail tutorial from the mixologists or a private beach dinner with a special seafood barbeque menu
