Weddings
With its coastal outlook, enveloped by luscious greenery, Amanera is the ideal base for a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. Where nature reigns supreme, couples can choose to say their vows beneath a regal clifftop almond tree on the pristine beach, or poolside, with astonishing ocean views. Across the course of the special day, multiple venues can host receptions both intimate and grand, from convivial beach barbecues to more formal banquets, where entertainment, décor and styling can take influence from the nature that surrounds or elevate the resort’s contemporary design. At the heart of every decision, the couple are invited to make the resort their own, writing the next chapter of their story from Amanera’s ‘peaceful waters’.
The venues
Casa Grande
Offering sweeping views at every turn, the resort’s striking Casa Grande is an architectural masterpiece that seemingly floats above a three-tiered cascading water feature. As well as a lofty open-air Lounge Bar, an intimate Cigar Lounge and a Library, it houses Amanera’s signature restaurant with its expansive indoor and outdoor dining areas and uninterrupted views of the mile-long, golden stretch of Playa Grande Beach. The pavilion can host 80 guests seated or 110 guests standing.
Lounge Bar
Amanera’s laid-back lounge area serves as a lofty setting for a memorable champagne toast, a private dinner for up to 20 guests or a cosy pre- or post-celebration drink for 70 guests (standing). One of the resort’s most relaxed venues, it offers spectacular views of Playa Grande Beach and the ocean from the second floor of Amanera’s main pavilion.
Bay View Casa
This magnificent two-bedroom villa is perched in its own private garden on the very edge of the cliffs, claiming completely unobstructed views of Playa Grande Beach and the ocean from its expansive living areas, outdoor terrace and private infinity swimming pool. The ideal venue for an intimate ceremony or reception, it also makes a stunning setting for a sunset cocktail party for 30 standing guests or a seated rehearsal dinner for up to 40 (combining indoors and outdoors) prior to the big day.
Beach Club
Framed by coconut palms and lush foliage, Amanera’s Beach Club is set on the golden sands of Playa Grande Beach with expansive decks and lounging areas providing mesmerising views of the sparkling ocean. Offering elegant feet-in-the-sand dining and an authentic pizza oven, the Beach Club is the ideal venue for champagne breakfasts, long lazy lunches and festive beach barbecues with bonfires and torches adding to the romance. The venue can host 110 guests standing (restaurant and beach), 70 guests seated on the beach or 30 guests seated in the restaurant.
The Platform at Hole 14
Originally designed by golf legend Robert Trent Jones Sr., the Playa Grande Golf & Ocean Club course boasts the most oceanfront holes of any course in the western hemisphere. The 14th hole might well be its most spectacular, with a rolling emerald green fairway ending in a verdant clifftop lawn beside a regal almond tree. A special natural setting, this beautiful site overlooking the sea can witness large open-air ceremonies, parties and seated receptions for up to 110 guests, yet is still as well-suited to smaller gatherings.
