Sample the peerless art of Japanese hospitality at Taka-An, where Aman’s gifted chef presents an omakase (set menu) dining experience. Or savour Western and local cuisines at the convivial Living Pavilion, with its fire-warmed interiors and breathtaking garden terrace. 

The Living Pavilion by Aman provides priority seating to hotel guests. Due to limited seating, advance reservations are required for visitors. Reservations can be made online through the following link.

Enjoy a serene picnic lunch prepared by Taka-An showcasing the refined artistry of Japanese cuisine. The three-tiered bento features a selection of delicately crafted sushi, cuts of flavourful Kyoto Hirai beef and an assortment of fresh seasonal fruits.

A Moment of Matcha

Each afternoon, hotel guests are invited to savour a bowl of premium matcha accompanied by seasonal sweets. Upon request, a hands-on experience learning to prepare matcha yourself can be arranged.

Evening aperitif

Indulge in nightly complimentary evening aperitifs, with a choice ranging from Champagne and wine to sparkling sake. An array of snacks is also offered, meticulously crafted by Director of Culinary and F&B Operations Tatsuya Ozawa using locally sourced ingredients.

Kyoto breakfast

Kickstart the morning with a nourishing Japanese breakfast. This healthy and long-lived diet includes fermented foods like pickles and miso soup, along with a wide array of proteins, vitamins, minerals, and fibre. Small dishes, including sashimi and obanzai, are elegantly presented in a wooden box while for the main course, a choice of Kuroge Wagyu beef or grilled fish is served with clay pot rice or soymilk porridge made with soy milk from Toyoukeya.
