Surrounded by serene Buddhist temples in a wooded valley, Amanfayun is a private village, seemingly lost in time. It rests peacefully on the edge of Hangzhou, where the West Lake has influenced poets and painters throughout Chinese history. Weddings

The experienced team at Amanfayun can assist in the planning of personal, one-of-a-kind weddings, whether an intimate courtyard exchanging of vows or an elaborate ceremony with family and friends. Originally a tea-farming village with roots in the Tang dynasty, Amanfayun retains the layout and charm of a traditional Chinese hamlet and is exceptionally photogenic. Ancient stone walls, verdant glades and the sensitive blend of antique and contemporary architecture provide several unique backdrops, ensuring a wedding album like no other.

Celebrations

Special events at Amanfayun can be held both indoors and outdoors, while activities can be arranged to build anticipation and extend the celebrations. Share breakfast in a forest glade, explore the grottoes of Feilai Peak, host an elegant cocktail party, settle in for dinner at Yuan or simply unwind at the spa. 

The Venues

Yuan

The largest and most contemporary of Amanfayun’s dining venues, Yuan is housed on the ground floor of a regal two-storey structure set back from Fayun Pathway behind a grove of evergreen trees. The venue can accommodate up to 36 guests on long tables, or 70 guests on round table.

Private Dining & Meeting Room

Located directly above Yuan, Amanfayun’s Meeting Room is a light-filled venue with beautiful views featuring the latest audio-visual equipment, ideal for corporate events. Also suitable for use as a private dining room, it offers an open-air terrace overlooking the forest surrounding the village and can accommodate up to 72 seated guests.

Fayun Place

Located in the centre of the village, Fayun Place is the most commanding of the resort’s original structures. Incorporating two stately courtyard houses dating back to the 1800s, it is accessed via stone courtyards and has a romantic ambience. A dramatic entrance hall and spacious lounge occupy the lower level, while the upper level houses a Cigar Room and informal sitting rooms. The Library extends over both levels, meaning groups of different sizes can be accommodated in one or several unique spaces.

Event Design

Our event team recommends the best photographers and videographers, while our recommended florists will design floral decorations from bouquets and buttonholes, to table centrepieces and stands, in line with personal preferences.

Entertainment

Each Aman is very much a part of its cultural setting and can arrange local musicians to perform traditional music. Dance performances and cultural demonstrations can also be arranged. Classical and contemporary options are also covered, with a selection of recommended string quartets, soloists, bands and DJs available.
