Eastern Gem exhibition

Showcasing the works of photographer Dewandra Djelantik, Bali's Eastern Gem exhibition takes place at Amankila's Library until 31 July. An internationally renowned artist, Dewandra is the first son of the first grandson of I Gusti Bagus Djelantik, the last King of Karangasem who reigned in 1909-1945. Focussing on Taman Soekasada Ujung, also known as Ujung Water Palace - an architectural masterpiece by I Gusti Bagus Djelantik - the exhibition highlights the beauty of the historic palace. A fusion of Chinese, Dutch and traditional Balinese architecture, Taman Soekasada Ujung also served as the design inspiration for nearby Amankila.
