Four separate restaurants grace Amandayan’s secluded hilltop, each with its own unique character and outlook, while the options for private dining with amazing views of Lijiang are endless. Bookings are open to both guests and non-residents.

Man Yi Xuan 

With indoor and outdoor seating and panoramic views, the resort’s Chinese restaurant lives up to its name, ‘Lingering Peace’. Serving Yunnan cuisines for lunch and dinner, the restaurant also offers four private dining rooms in which to savour traditional Yunnan hot pot. Locally sourced ingredients include Shangri-la yak and fish from Chenghai River. 

The Tea House 

Savour delicate dim sum and traditional Chinese and Western tea sets with savouries, cakes and pastries overlooking Old Town in the two-storey Tea House. Open from noon to 5pm daily, this tranquil venue provides both indoor and outdoor settings in which to sip tea, enjoy the view and relax. 

The Lounge 

A welcoming venue in which to relax over breakfast, afternoon tea or a light meal, the Lounge is ideal for whiling away an hour or two with a book from the library, or for planning your next day’s adventure over expertly prepared cocktails. 

Culinary Discovery

Enjoy a traditional Nakhi hotpot at Man Yi Xuan or a traditional tea tasting including the finest Yunnan Black Tea and aged Puer Tea at the Tea House. In season, usually between June and September, hunt for Matsutake mushrooms in the rain scented forests, then feast on these revered delicacies in a farmhouse lost in time.

Pause to enjoy a delicious and refreshing, mountain-inspired afternoon tea while savouring Amandayan’s panoramic views over Lijiang.With distant peaks on the horizon, choose from a variety of fine teas and snack on delectable sweet and savoury delicacies – some inspired by traditional Nakhi treats and others by locally grown seasonal fruits.

Amandayan Spring Menu-Taste of Flowers and Vegetables

When the spring arrives in Lijiang, it brings with it new buds and flowers on the spectacular crab-apple trees that surround Wenchang Palace. Just as the flowers come into bloom, so too do the wild vegetables that grow in the surrounding regions. To experience the season of renewal in Yunnan in its purest form, guests are invited to enjoy a limited edition spring menu in the Chinese Restaurant, with a menu of special dishes created using fresh, local ingredients available until 30 June 2023.

As the new season brings brighter days and more temperate weather, Amandayan's Pavilion is the perfect spot from which to while away the afternoon, enjoying views of the distant mountains and soaking up the sun's welcome rays. Pavilion Dining

Almost seeming to float on the hillside high above Lijiang Old Town, Amandayan’s open-sided dining pavilion is an exquisite setting for a private breakfast or candlelit dinner. As the morning sun gilds the rooftops below, tuck into a delicious Chinese or Western breakfast with homemade sausages and other delicacies. Or choose to dine at sunset, as the lights in the valley flicker on, savouring crispy suckling pig, abalone, lobster, Wagyu beef and more.
