From Kyoto to Marrakech
Beginning in Japan, the 21-night journey unfolds with sake tastings and geisha-led experiences in Kyoto, before continuing to the pristine beaches of Palawan in the Philippines and on to Indonesia, home to the UNESCO-listed temples of Borobudur and tranquil rural heartlands. The journey then drifts south to Sri Lanka’s sun-soaked shores, where island life invites yacht excursions and dolphin-spotting adventures. The journey then moves to Dubai, concluding the Asian leg of the expedition, before travelling onwards to the palazzo-lined canals of Venice and the spice-scented souks of Marrakech.

Destination 1: Japan
Aman Kyoto, Japan
Secret tree-filled gardens and pavilions in tranquil glades set the scene at sanctuary-like Aman Kyoto – a secluded onsen retreat, whose only near neighbour is the Kinkaku-ji golden temple. Omakase cuisine is served by Chef Shinichirō Takagi in Taka-An, while The Living Pavilion covers authentic Kyoto dishes, served on the hotel’s forest-bathed terrace. Set on pristine Pamalican Island, amid powder-fine beaches and knitted coral reefs, Aman’s only Philippines outpost represents a true tropical paradise. Coastal Casitas and private Villas are all steps away from the shore and a host of marine adventures tempts scuba divers, surfers and sailors into bath-warm waters of up to 30°C (86°F). A fleet of boats stands by for activities and excursions, from snorkelling and sandbar picnics to sunset sails and star-lit cruises. Destination 3: Indonesia

After days of relaxation, the journey continues onwards to the cultural highlights of Central Java and Amanjiwo, overlooking Unesco-guarded Borobudur. From this privileged perch, there’s chance to explore the world’s largest Buddhist temple complex entirely free from crowds, with bespoke backstage excursions. A morning trek through rice paddies to the 8th-century Hindu temple of Selogriyo is also included. Back at Amanjiwo, the resort centres around a lofty hilltop rotunda, where resort-grown Javanese meals are served. Steps slope down to a pool where indolent afternoons can be spent, cooling off against a bottle-green backdrop of tropical flora.
Destination 4: Sri Lanka

From Indonesia’s rural heart to Sri Lanka’s southern shores, Amanwella awaits, drenched in the sun’s warm rays and fringed by coconut palms. Aman’s modern-day Grand Tour takes on a refined tone at 16th-century Aman Venice, housed in one of only eight monumental palazzi to grace the city’s history-steeped Grand Canal.
