Summer in the city
From the sprawling metropolises of New York and Tokyo to the 100-island capital of Italy’s Veneto region, Aman’s urban sanctuaries come alive in the summer months.
The distant location of Indonesia’s Moyo Island is all part of the appeal of staying at Amanwana. Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is the gateway with most frequent international flights (though, direct links to Lombok International Airport (LOP) are also available in more limited numbers). From Bali, it’s an onward flight to Sumbawa Besar via Lombok. Ensuring the most effortless of arrivals, Amanwana’s dedicated concierge team is on hand to assist with all travel planning, transfers and arrangements – including private plane or helicopter charter.
The best-served airport to Amanwana is Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). From here, it’s a 40-minute flight to Lombok International Airport (LOP) and a 35-minute connecting flight to Sumbawa Besar.
You can also fly direct to Lombok International Airport (LOP) via a more limited number of international flights.
Indonesia offers a single-entry 30-day e-visa, applied for online in advance. A valid passport for at least six months and a return (or onward) ticket is also required. Aman recommends that all international guests refer to the official website for information on the latest entry requirements.
An Aman representative greets guests at Sultan Muhammad Kaharuddin III Airport upon landing in Sumbawa Besar, before a road transfer to Amanwana’s private jetty and a 45-minute speedboat journey across the Flores Sea to Moyo. Dolphins, flying fish and other marine life can often be spotted on this scenic cruise, as light snacks and drinks are served.

Amanwana can assist guests in commercial flight bookings.
Currently, commercial flights do not fly direct to Sumbawa from Bali, Jakarta or any international destination. Guests flying on commercial airlines from Bali will experience a stopover in Lombok.
Due to ever-changing conditions, commercial flights often face delays or cancellations, and guests may be held overnight in Lombok. The Amanwana team will monitor guests on in-coming commercial flights and provide assistance when required. However, kindly note Amanwana cannot be held responsible for any delays or cancellations of commercial flights and the guests will be solely responsible for additional costs resulting from changes to their commercial flights.
Guests arriving on all airlines are met at the airport in Sumbawa Besar by an Aman representative and transferred by car to Amanwana’s private jetty, where the Amanwana boat awaits.
Guests interested in flying between other destinations within Indonesia should contact the Aman Voyages Concierge team for pricing and availability. Prices are subject to 21% tax & service charge.
Launch a multi-destination Aman journey in the region where it all began. With 18 resorts across 11 countries, it’s never been easier to linger for longer in Asia.
In Indonesia alone, there are four more exclusive hideaways to explore, including Bali’s Amankila on the quiet east coast, Amandari in the culture-rich Ubud highlands and Aman Villas at Nusa Dua on the island’s southernmost beach-ringed peninsula. Meanwhile, Java-based Amanjiwo focuses in on the temples of Borobudur and two-masted Phinisi sailing yacht Amandira skippers sea-lovers through the Spice Islands, Raja Ampat and Komodo.
Amanwana can organise individual air charters with the Legacy 600. The aircraft carries up to thirteen passengers with a maximum of 20 large suitcases. Charter flights operate between Jakarta, Surabaya or Bali to Sumbawa Besar. Upon arrival in Sumbawa Besar, guests are met by an Aman representative and transferred to the private jetty for the boat journey across the Flores Sea.
There’s a magic that can happen between departure and destination, when, as we venture beyond the confines of our everyday routines, we start to feel truly free. To make journeys to Amanwana as peaceful and seamless as possible, the camp’s partnership with Fly Bali makes private helicopter transfers from Bali directly to the resort’s location on Moyo Island possible. The incredible beauty of the landscape, the freedom to explore in one’s own time, this journey is designed to capture the poetry of a private trip.
