A half-day journey into stillness near Luang Prabang, crossing the Mekong River to a forest temple where meditation, blessings and acts of merit unfold in quiet reverence, offering a deeper connection to Lao Buddhist life and monastic tradition. 

Sample itinerary

  • Transfer from Amantaka by boat across the Mekong River to Wat Hadsiaew
  • Introduction to Theravada Buddhism, Lao Buddhist culture, temple etiquette and traditional dress
  • Welcome herbal tea and creation of a personal flower offering
  • Introduction to mindfulness practice and open discussion

At the temple:

  • Orientation to the temple grounds
  • Standing meditation with Ms Korn
  • Walking meditation with resident nuns
  • Seated meditation in the main hall with Satthu Oun Huan
  • Offering of a personal basket and alms string
  • Traditional water blessing and closing conversation
     

Morning session: 8.30am–11.30am / Afternoon session: 2.30pm–5.30pm
