Amanjiwo, Indonesia
A hidden jewel at Java’s centre Amanjiwo rests in the shadows of the largest Buddhist temple complex in the world, Borobudur, which reopens to visitors from 1 March 2023.
The 210 square metre (1291 square feet) Queen Marija Suites are named after the monarch who once spent the summer at Villa Miločer. Housed in a separate building near the 19th Century villa, a choice of sea or garden views can be enjoyed from the suites’ terraces, offering a serene escape steeped in history in one of the the resort’s most private locations. Decorated in a contemporary style, the suites carefully balance old-world charm with modern accents, including a king-sized bedroom, living room with fireplace and an en suite complete with a large, freestanding bathtub.
