Triton Bay Expedition

Discover everything a diver, sun-, sea- and nature-lover could ask for and more on this six-night expedition to Triton Bay. Named for the Greek sea god, this magnificent bay in Kaimana regency, part of Indonesia’s West Papua Province, is truly a heaven on earth. Unspoilt by any development, its reefs blanket the ocean floor in a wonderland of soft corals, home to every kind of sea creature from pygmy seahorses to majestic whale sharks. Flora and fauna onshore is just as spectacular, with prolific birdlife creating the soundtrack for each memorable day.

Out of this world diving

A protected marine reserve, Triton Bay is home to some of the best and most diverse macro life in Indonesia, with pygmy seahorses, yet unnamed species of cuttlefish and squid, and endless species of nudibranchs. From beautiful black corals to yellowtail barracuda, parrotfish, devil rays and wobbegong sharks, each dive will reveal a new discovery.

Swim with whale sharks

Follow the rising sun to the Bagans – traditional fishing vessels from which to swim with whale sharks. Once the silhouettes of these gentle giants have been glimpsed beneath the surface, slip in and swim alongside them – a brush with the divine you will never forget.

Discover local rock art

In centuries past, there were souls lucky enough to live out their entire lives in this magical place. On the cliffs of Namatota, they left their mark in celebration of nature’s gifts. Find their drawings and entertain the temptation to call this paradise home for good.

Waterfall wonders

Kiti Kiti Waterfall plunges through verdant vegetation into the turquoise waters of the bay below. Swim or snorkel at its foot, and even climb beneath it for a spray-framed view out to sea. After a picnic lunch, discover hidden lagoons filled with fish.

Island dining

In the shade of palm trees on a picture-postcard islet, enjoy a hearty breakfast with only nature as your witness. While Amandira’s staff ensures your coffee is fresh and your croissant freshly baked, swim and snorkel, kayak and paddleboard to your heart’s content.
