In the traditional Balinese Saka Calendar, the new year is marked by Nyepi which falls this year on 22 March 2023. A Hindu celebration designed to cleanse the previous year’s negative energy and prepare for a positive year ahead, Nyepi – New Year’s Day – sees the island of Bali at its most serene, with traffic silenced and many taking part in fasting, alongside abstention from work and forms of entertainment.
To celebrate this sacred day, guests of Amankila are invited to take part in several cultural experiences throughout their stay. Ranging from a Melukat Water Blessing to a Lonar Writing Class and a choice of Balinese Cooking Class or 60-minute massage, some of the resort’s most restorative activities are combined, for a stay designed to showcase local tradition and set positive intentions for the year ahead.
Stays across Nyepi also include rountrip airport transfers and breakfast for two, to ensure the most seamless of stays.
