Expeditions by Sea
Navigate new secluded horizons on a fully-staffed, hand-crafted Phinisi or traditional teak cruising vessel. Sail the high seas, dive pristine reefs and discover landscapes few are ever privy to.
Verdant atolls and unparalleled marine life
The Raja Ampat expedition is a five- or seven-night adventure through one of the world’s most exceptional marine areas. Renowned for its biodiversity, Raja Ampat or ‘The Four Kings’ encompasses over 40,000km² in the northeast seas of the Indonesian Archipelago where the Pacific becomes the Indian Ocean. The resulting currents stir up nutrient-rich water which, along with the tropical climate, nurtures magnificent coral reefs and unparalleled marine life.
Set sail in search of Dragons
The Komodo Expedition is a seven-night adventure through the pristine wilderness and waters of Indonesia’s Komodo National Park. Encounter antediluvian creatures unchanged since prehistoric times on a visit to the only two islands in the world where the infamous Komodo dragon can still be found. Cruise through the Nusa Tenggara Archipelago to dive and snorkel some of the world’s most biologically diverse and widely acclaimed underwater sites. This expedition truly unveils a forgotten Eden, on land and sea.
Sail the Spice Islands; amongst vibrant reefs and serene white beaches
Embark on a ten-night voyage to discover the Spice Islands, a cluster of seven tiny islands in Eastern Indonesia’s vast Banda Sea. Known for their raw natural beauty, the islands were once home to the world’s only source of nutmeg, drawing tradesmen from far and wide. Today, traces of this past lie hidden beneath the blanket of dense forest, discoverable on foot led by expert guides. As you sail between the islands on Amandira, dive into the clear turquoise waters to see the abundant marine life. Closer to shore, vibrant multi-coloured coral reefs lie in the shallows off the serene white beaches. Whether on shore or at sea, experienced staff offer intuitive service and expert guidance throughout your journey.
Adventures on land
Find adventure in the wonder of the wilderness with Aman’s trio of tented retreats. In these remote and restorative settings, the clamour of the everyday world is distant and the connection to nature is at its strongest.
Camp Sarika by Amangiri
Amid an otherworldly landscape of slot canyons, mesas and rust-hued rock formations lies a cluster of 10 tented pavilions – a unique and intimate invitation to experience meditative seclusion in one of the most geologically astounding places on Earth. Here, on the cusp of five national parks and the Navajo Nation Reservation, the wilds of the Old West are waiting to be explored by day and, at night, the campfire roars into life beneath a sky pinpricked with stars.
Ensconced in a brushwood forest on the fringes of Ranthambore National Park, the safari camp of Aman-I-Khas was created to remove the walls that keep away the wild. Its 10 tented suites stand at six metres tall, embodying the regal grandeur of a Mughal hunting party while revelling in the majesty of nature. Every day, guided safari excursions escort guests into the park to discover the vast array of indigenous wildlife, including the beautiful and Bengal tigers that make Ranthambore their home.
East of Bali, the tiny far-flung island of Moyo sits surrounded by the Flores Sea. The 12 tents of Amanwana are spread across its coastline, between the golden sand and the emerald jungle, with macaques and native rusa deer roaming freely among them. A rainbow of marine life can be found in three coral reefs close to the shore, making the private-island encampment an exceptional base for both scuba and free diving. On land, the rainforest promises jungle treks to hidden waterfalls, as well as the restorative simplicity of a castaway paradise.
