25 years since designer Ed Tuttle unveiled his hillside-hugging architectural masterpiece, Amankila marks the occasion with a year of celebrations. The resort has prepared a host of
events and experiences showcasing the creative and artisanal traditions of the Karangasem locale, and drawing on the skills and knowledge of a truly dedicated team.

On four dates during the anniversary year – Easter, August and during the festive period – guests will be treated to a captivating stage show using song, dance and the traditional art of shadow puppetry to tell a tale from the Hindu Mahabharata

DISCOVER THE GREAT TEXTILE TRADITIONS OF THE AREA'S ARTISAN VILLAGES WITH A UNIQUE EXHIBITION AT AMANKILA

Between July and September the boutique and gallery space will be dedicated to an exhibition of songket – the shimmering gold and silver fabrics woven by hand in Sidemen village since the 17th century – and gerinsing, one of the world's rarest forms of ikat weaving, practised in Tenganan village for centuries.
