A traditional village of stone pathways, shaded courtyards and peaceful abodes, Amanfayun is a place to explore and a gateway to the beauty of West Lake and beyond

Dining Experiences at Amanfayun, China
Restaurants are open to guests and non-residents

Amanfayun’s varied culinary options are dotted across the grounds: the glass-walled Restaurant looks out over an evergreen grove, while the relaxed Steam House serves up traditional fare in a simple high-ceilinged pavilion, with outdoor tables for summer dining. Three independently operated eateries are also set within the village: the Hangzhou House, the Tea House and the Vegetarian House

Start the day with a traditional Chinese breakfast at the steam house

Try shredded pork and egg congee or Hangzhou-style egg noodle soup along with many other local favourites

With a daily-changing menu of small plates, lunch at the tea house is not complete without sampling the locally-grown tea

One of China’s principal tea regions, Hangzhou is home to a number of distinguished growers, as the in-house tea master can explain over an afternoon tasting at the Tea House

Symbolising wealth due to their auspicious shape, dumplings are an integral part of cuisine served during many Chinese holidays
