After a Muay Thai kickboxing class, allow Juan Alberto Martinez to demonstrate the art of cigar making. Try one of Amanera's specially blended and handcrafted cigars with a range of rums from the Dominican Republic.

Golf at Playa Grande

Combining challenging fairways with a breathtaking seascape, Playa Grande takes world-class golfing to new heights of enjoyment. Private classes can be arranged for adults and children with Julio Santos, the first Dominican to play in a PGA Tournament. In the evening, enjoy a merengue dance or cocktail class.

Dominican Night at the Beach Club

After an eco-hike through Amanera's extensive acreage, enjoy a true Dominican evening at the Beach Club. Settle down for a Domincan buffet including spit-roast pork, barbecued seafood and traditional side dishes. An orchestra of four musicians will play Bachata music.

Horseback Riding

A ten minute drive from the resort, ride through the Caribbean forest from low lying areas which were once ride paddy fields to high lying densely forested woodland. Crossing the Cuaco lagoon on a wooden bridge, you have the opportunity to see many bird species in the lagoon, before riding back along the beach.

Tennis Tournament

Shaded by lush tropical greenery, Amanera's resident tennis pro Rolando has organised a tennis tournament on the two clay Har-Tru courts, with finals after lunch.

Nature Walk

Amanera’s extensive acreage has enabled the creation of a diverse range of eco-hikes on trails. For getting up close to indigenous flora and fauna, and for incredible vertiginous views from the mountain ridge behind Amanera, these hikes are ideal. On our hike you are always accompanied by an experienced, knowledgeable guide.

Mountain Biking

Amanera’s guided bike rides give guests the opportunity to explore more than eight square kilometers (2,000 acres) of virgin forest. The resort’s experienced guide will select trails according to your ability and fitness level. You will cycle through local farms and settlements with some beautiful views of the ocean before enjoying the downhill ride and loop back to the hotel.
