Amanjiwo, Indonesia
A hidden jewel at Java’s centre Amanjiwo rests in the shadows of the largest Buddhist temple complex in the world, Borobudur, which reopens to visitors from 1 March 2023.
From 21 to 23 March 2023
In the traditional Balinese Saka Calendar, the new year is marked by Nyepi which falls this year on 22 March 2023. A Hindu celebration designed to cleanse the previous year’s negative energy and prepare for a positive year ahead, Nyepi – New Year’s Day – sees the island of Bali at its most serene, with traffic silenced and many taking part in fasting, alongside abstention from work and forms of entertainment.
To celebrate this sacred day, guests of Amandari are invited to take part in several moving experiences throughout their stay. Ranging from a Balinese Blessing to Morning Yoga and Offering Making, some of the resort’s most restorative activities are combined, for a stay that showcases local tradition, alongside the setting of positive intentions for the year ahead. Stays across Nyepi also include roundtrip airport transfers and breakfast for two, to ensure the most seamless of stays.
