Celebrations are rarely single day events in Indian culture, and the colour, light and life brought to every occasion is a joy to behold. The same passion is shared with visitors who choose to mark personal milestones in this welcoming land. At Amanbagh – a garden oasis in Rajasthan’s Aravalli Hills – weddings, anniversaries and birthdays for up to 100 guests can be held with exquisite dining, décor, entertainment and unique experiences in a myriad of settings, both on and off the property.
Weddings
Love is a many splendoured thing, especially in India where grooms traditionally arrive on noble white steeds, brides wear jewel-toned saris with delicately henna-ed hands and feet, and elephants are festooned with garlands of marigolds. At Amanbagh, a wedding can involve as much or as little ceremony as desired, with both large traditional and more modern, intimate ceremonies guaranteed to be breathtaking affairs. Held in the gardens or any other location that resonates with the couple, the ceremony can also be performed by Ajabgarh’s respected holy man – a truly moving experience.
Events
Food is an intrinsic part of any Indian celebration, and Amanbagh’s chefs are often at their most inspired when curating menus for special events. Evolving recipes handed down through the generations for authentic local dishes, they use the seasonal vegetables and herbs grown in Amanbagh’s organic garden to create freshly prepared feasts for friends and family. Aside from the resort’s beautiful restaurants, private dining venues include the Library Terrace, the traditional earth walled Gwaadi with its open fire, the Rooftop Chhatri boasting panoramic views, and the Polo Lawn amid a sea of diya lamps and flower rangolis, with live music to set the scene.
The venues
Poolside
Offering magnificent views of the emerald-hued pool and the soft pink stones of the main building, Amanbagh’s poolside is a stunning venue best suited for a sit-down dinner or evening cocktails, accommodating up to 100 guests.
Courtyard Garden and Terrace
Overlooking the main swimming pool and surrounded by the greens, the courtyard garden and terrace form the beating heart of the resort. A variety of event designs and dining styles can be arranged at this venue which seats up to 100 guests, serving as the perfect setting for evening entertainment.
The Restaurant
The restaurant - Amanbagh’s main dining venue – is at the heart of the resort. The largest of the indoor venue options, the space can be designed to comfortably host up to 50 guests for a cocktail set-up or 32 guests when seated. Fully air-conditioned, the restaurant offers a cool and shaded space for celebrating, even in the warmest summer months.
Croquet Lawn
Located adjacent to the polo grounds, Amanbagh’s elegant croquet lawn covers an area of 1,425 square meters (15,338 square feet) fringed by lush greenery –evoking the spirit of a Northern Indian oasis. With some ambient candle lighting, soft muslin fabrics and seasonal flowers arranged under a tapestry of stars, the lawn grounds can be configured for a celebration for up to 100 guests.
Polo Lawn
The lush and wide green space of the 2,500 square meter (8,200 square feet) polo grounds offer stunning mountain views surrounded by palm trees, making the ideal base on which to create a visionary event for up to 100 guests. The grounds evoke a special sense of serenity and space, embodying its history as staging grounds for royal hunting expeditions for Mughal royalties.
Library and Rooftop Terrace
With views of the verdant gardens, the swimming pool and the resort grounds, the library terrace offers a panoramic setting of Amanbagh and the worlds beyond. This multi-level venue gives guests the freedom to plan and design events that require multi-faceted layers such as an arrival cocktail reception on the day before the wedding. It can accommodate a maximum of 100 guests when standing.
