Summer In Venice

Summer in Venice

Like a breath of fresh air, Spring has arrived in Venice, bringing with it the delicacies of the season, and soon, the most prestigious architectural event in the world, Biennale Architecttura 2019. Winter coats are discarded and the blossoming colours of spring arrive, as the locals celebrate the first warm rays of sunshine with a spritz of Aperol, served with cicchetti. As balmy temperatures prevail, Aman Venice opens its garden on the Grand Canal, fragrant wisteria spilling over the pergola

For more than 120 years, the Venice Biennale has been listed as one of the most prestigious art and architectural events in the world

From 11 May to 24 November, guests are invited to immerse themselves in the 58th Venice Biennale entitled 'May You Live In Interesting Times'.The exhibition will take place at the Giardini and the Arsenale, as well as around other venues in Venice.
Aman Venice, Canal

Curated this year by London’s Hayward Gallery Director, Ralph Rugoff

The title of this year's Biennale is a phrase of English invention that has long been mistakenly cited as an ancient Chinese curse that invokes periods of uncertainty and turmoil. It will explore art’s potential as a method for looking into things that are otherwise inaccessible and will include artwork that reflects upon the precariousness of today’s existence.

On 24 March, a celebration of contemporary art and architecture opens with Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana’s annual art exhibitions

This year will present contemporary artist Luc Tuymans' first personal exhibition in Italy and Punta Della Doggana showcases ‘Luogo e Segni’ which will include many artists presented for the first time in the Pinault Collection. Curated by Caroline Bourgeois in collaboration with the artist (Mortsel, Belgium, 1958), the show is entitled ‘La Pelle’ (The Skin), after Curzio Malaparte’s 1949 novel.
