Embedded in the wilderness on the fringes of tiger sanctuary Ranthambore National Park, Aman-i-Khás is a tranquil retreat connected with both history and nature

Dining Experiences at Aman-i-Khas

Beloved all over the world, Indian cuisine is renowned for its use of colourful, fragrant spices, its delicate layering of flavours and its balance between vegetarian and meat dishes. Using local family recipes passed down through the generations, our chefs also offer lighter variations of the classics and a range of international dishes, all of which can be tailored to suit individual tastes.

Aman-i-khas, India, Organic Garden

Organic garden

A lush oasis tended by dedicated gardeners, the camp’s organic kitchen garden provides fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs for the Dining Tent’s ever-changing menus. Chefs visit daily, to handpick what they need, and delight in touring the gardens with curious guests.
Aman-i-Khas, India - Lounge Tent

Mughal-inspired dining

The lamp-lit ambience of the Dining Tent with its large communal table, multiple smaller settings and outdoor terrace harks back to the regal tent cities of Mughal emperors. The carefully curated menu offers international favourites as well as authentic Indian fare, including fragrant Rajasthani thalis. These round platters present a selection of various dishes from curries to dhal, accompanied by rice and homemade roti.
Aman-i-khas, India, Fire Pit

Fireside reflection

At the heart of the camp, the open-air fire pit is surrounded by comfortable seating with views of the surrounding forest. It is an ideal setting for informal meals or for basking in the serenity of the wilderness and the star-filled night sky. Nightly log fires make it a gathering point – a post-dinner outdoor salon where guests recount and reflect on the day’s explorations.
Aman-i-khas, India, Picnic

Bespoke picnics

Picnic hampers allow for lunches in extraordinary settings, whether on a safari in the National Park, or while visiting one of the ancient and atmospheric forts nearby. A private bush dinner can also be arranged in a secluded spot in the wilderness, with a personal chef and local musicians providing a personalised menu and entertainment beneath the stars.
Aman-i-Khas, India - Guava Farm Breakfast

Alfresco breakfasts

During guava harvest season, stop off at a local farm on return from your morning safari and enjoy an authentic breakfast freshly prepared by our camp chefs in a sun-gilded guava orchid. Sip your coffee or fragrant chai as parrots flutter through the branches overhead, adding to the morning chorus of birdsong.

Learn the art

It is not the flavours alone that make Indian cuisine unique: the intricate methods of preparation themselves have become an art form. Join one of the camp’s chefs at our picturesque lakeside location for home-style culinary demonstrations and master a local delicacy prepared in a charcoal-lit, clay oven.
