Winter Snow

From the heights of the Himalayas to the valleys of the Alps, winter weaves its white magic on every landscape it touches, creating startling scenes and new opportunities for adventure.

The call of Courchevel

With 600km of pristine piste to tackle across Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens, Le Trois Vallées promise exhilarating runs for skiers of every level of ability. Now open for the 2018 season, and equipped with a new and extensive Aman Spa, the ski-in, ski-out Aman Le Melezin in Courchevel 1850 also offers a wealth of other Alpine experiences, ranging from high-adrenaline heli-skiing and ice-climbing to snowshoe treks in fir-tree forests.

Jackson Hole dog-sledding

The Rockies are an all-season adventure playground, but the winter months of January and February transform the Wyoming mountains into a snow-blanketed wilderness, where days can be spent hurtling across the land by ski, sled or sleigh. With around 10 metres of snow falling annually, the thousand-hectare ski area promises perfect powder until April, while the snow-dusted forests can be explored, at speed and in comfort, by dog sled.

Himalayan enlightenment

In winter, the lodges of Amankora offer an introduction to nature at its most raw and bring the wonders of the cosmos into sharp focus. The air is clean and crisp, the sky is clear and cloudless; winter days in Bhutan begin with bracing nature walks across frosty forest floors and end beside roaring fires, a mug of hot cider in hand. The skies are at their most spectacular in this season, shifting from the richest cobalt by day to, at night, an infinite ink-dark ocean shimmering with stars.
