From Jakarta to Amanjiwo onboard the Kereta Api Wisata

Board the regal Kereta Api Wisata train from the lounge at Gambir Station and embark on a seven-hour journey through spectacular scenery. You will be joined by Amanjiwo’s resident anthropologist, Patrick Vanhoebrouck, who will share insights into Javanese culture and the historical sites you pass along the way. With meals on your journey prepared by Amanjiwo, your Aman experience will begin from the moment you set foot in your private carriage.

After a fascinating seven-hour train journey in consummate comfort, you will arrive at Amanjiwo, named ‘peaceful soul’ for the serenity, privacy and beauty of its setting. The resort overlooks the Unesco World Heritage Site of Borobudur, one of Buddhism’s most sacred Mahayana temples. Perfectly placed for exploring the region’s historic, artistic and cultural highlights, or for simply relaxing in blissful surroundings, the resort lies at the foot of the Menoreh Hills, cascading gracefully from a lofty rotunda down the hillside to a magnificent swimming pool.  

Also, for groups with a minimum of eight guests, the journey is available on a private charter basis, allowing friends or family to travel to Amanjiwo in the safety and security of their own private carriage.
