Destination 1: Tokyo

Aman Tokyo - Dining, Restaurant Tea Ceremony Experience, Aman Tokyo, Japan

Aman Tokyo

A rarefied sanctuary at the top of the Otemachi Tower, Aman Tokyo overlooks the Imperial Palace Gardens and the cityscape all the way to Mount Fuji on the horizon. Experience sublime sushi and sashimi at Musashi by Aman, authentic Italian fare at Arva, inspired international cuisine, drinks and afternoon tea at The Lounge by Aman, and home-baked pastries, crepes and more at The Café by Aman, in the green heart of the Otemachi Forest.

Your four nights at Aman Tokyo will see you exploring the city with expert guides, including visiting off-limit areas in Toyosu fish market, taking part in a tea ceremony, tasting Japanese souffle pancakes and schochu, dining at an izakaya restaurant and visiting an Art Aquarium. Your second full day will include a Fukagawa Fudo fire ceremony, experiencing a depachika food hall, making soba noodles for lunch and taking part in a sword fighting lesson, before a sumo demonstration by retired wrestlers and a Japanese baseball game. A full day excursion to Yamanashi - Japan’s finest wine-making region - will take in Lake Kawaguchiko with its breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, and lunch and wine tastings at top Japanese vineyards.

Destination 2: Ise Shima

Amanemu Dining

Amanemu, Ise Shima

Amanemu, a culinary hotspot, is inspired by the abundance of fresh seafood and Ise’s historic reputation as the breadbasket of the ancient Imperial Court. Executive Chef Masanobu Inaba sources exceptional produce from Ise-Shima, including Matsusaka Wagyu beef and prized spiny lobster and abalone from Ago Bay.

After getting your bullet train from Tokyo to Amanemu, cocktails and a kaiseki dinner will set the tone for your first evening at this tranquil coastal resort. Relax the next day, enjoying the onsen and exploring at will before indulging in an elaborate Matsusaka Wagyu beef dinner. A helicopter transfer the next morning will whisk you to Osaka for a street food tour, visit to Momofuku Ramen Museum, and a whisky tasting at the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery, before departing for Aman Kyoto.

Destination 3: Kyoto

Aman Kyoto Dining Living Pavilion by Aman - Exterior

Aman Kyoto

Situated just minutes from a host of Unesco World Heritage Sites including golden Kinkaku-ji Temple, Aman Kyoto is nonetheless a world apart - a secluded onsen retreat hidden away in a secret garden at the heart of a forest. Taka-An serves exceptional omakase cuisine by Chef Shinichirō Takagi, while The Living Pavilion by Aman offers international dishes and authentic Kyoto cuisine, which can also be enjoyed on its expansive terrace overlooking the forest.

Your three full days at Aman Kyoto will ensure you experience the ancient capital and its many pleasures to the max. Your own private car with driver and guide will deliver you to Nara, Uji and Wazuka Town, or the Miho Museum followed by the Fushimi Inari Taishi Shrine. Whichever you choose, your excursion will culminate with a sake tasting at a local brewery and a geisha dinner in a traditional tea house. Your second day will include a lesson in making wagashi sweets, a Zen meditation session, and a traditional Shojin-ryori lunch. In the afternoon, visit Nishiki market, then follow the Philosopher’s Walk and visit Ginkakuji Temple. Enjoy cocktails at the city’s foremost ceramics gallery, then a farewell dinner back at the resort. The following morning, a private transfer will take you to Kyoto Station or Osaka Airport for your onward train or flight.
