Discover Europe with Aman

Our enduring spirit

After months of isolation and reflection, disruption and uncertainty, hope returns to the horizon and peace is within our reach once again. From 6 June 2020, Aman reawakens across Europe. There are some small differences, of course. Every resort and hotel has new safety and hygiene measures in place to ensure the premises are kept free of COVID-19, but the spirit of Aman remains unchanged. From the shores of the Aegean to the banks of the Grand Canal, an Adriatic island to a Moroccan oasis, these Aman destinations offer unique perspectives on the diverse landscapes and history-rich cultures of Europe and North Africa, and a renewed promise of restoration and sanctuary – the calm after the storm.

Amanruya set within the Turkish landscape

Amanruya, Turkey

Our lives are a single chapter in the human story – part of a continuum of civilisation that stretches back millennia. To look upon the traces of the past can bring eye-opening perspectives to the present and, with its abundant ruins and relics, Bodrum Peninsula opens windows onto history. From the beachside Pavilions of Amanruya, venture to the Unesco-protected remnants of Ephesus, one of the greatest cities of the ancient world, or fast-forward a millennium and discover the medieval ruins of Bodrum Castle. Craft is another powerful connection to the cultural past, and in the surrounding villages, contemporary potters still use techniques and materials pioneered by the forefathers in the days of the Ottoman Empire.

Accommodation on the Sveti Stefan Island, Montenegro

Aman Sveti Stefan, Montenegro

Combining a 15th-century fortified island village with the former summer residence of the Yugoslavian royal family, Aman Sveti Stefan is a lesson in restoration and slow architecture. Close to the Unesco-listed old town of Kotor, the isthmus-linked resort is the ideal setting to ease off the accelerator and savour the joys of silence, the beauty of sunset, and the simple serenity of life on the sea. Queen’s Beach, a private scallop of sand beside the Aman Spa, is one of the country’s most beloved – the perfect spot to pause and revel in the sunshine.

2020 marks a decade of Aman hospitality on Sveti Stefan, introducing a special celebratory note to stays this year. The roster of commemorative events includes the opening of the resort’s new art gallery showcasing the work of local creatives, and an ongoing partnership with the Radevic Estate, the talented winemakers behind Aman’s extraordinary Vranac red. On the mainland, Villa Miloçer’s spa welcomes master practitioner Robert Hyrsky into residence for the summer, to offer guests his detox massage, craniosacral therapy and reconnective healing for mind, body and soul.

Aman Venice exterior

Aman Venice, Italy

Set in one of the city’s eight, great monumental palazzos on the Grand Canal, Aman Venice embodies all that is sumptuous and sensuous about La Serenissima - but while its frescoed interiors sate appetites for grandeur, they invoke balance and harmony too. Rococo works of art are offset by the contemporary restraint of Jean-Michel Gathy interiors; private gardens and year-round wellness encourage calming introspection. Combining a reverence to the past and an appreciation of the present, local experts curate authentic, cultural encounters away from the crowds, reaching the heart of Venetian passions.

New this year, Aman Venice is pleased to announce the appointment of globally acclaimed 3 Michelin starred chef, Norbert Niederkofler, as Consultant Chef.  Renowned for his culinary philosophy ‘Cook the Mountain’ - which sees him utilising locally grown produce, drawing inspiration from his surroundings and giving value to the ingredients in all their parts - Chef Norbert will interpret his philosophy to the shores of Venice to curate a series of dishes and menus themed ‘Cook the Lagoon’. In keeping with Aman Venice’s dedication to sustainability, Chef Norbert believes in ethical and clean cooking and will work with Chef Dario to consult with local farmers, fishermen and market traders to source the freshest seasonal produce from the lagoon and nearby islands. Chef Norbert will be in residence on June 26 and 27, and July 3 and 4 serving both lunch and dinner.
